Olga Kern performs Rachmaninoff

Friday, Oct 4, 2013 8:00p

When Olga Kern won the gold medal at the 2001 Van Cliburn Piano Competition, she became the first woman in more than 30 years to have done so, and it was composer Sergei Rachmaninoff who helped put her across the finish line. She will showcase the lyricism and grace of Rachmaninoff’s compositions when she opens the Philharmonic Society’s 60th anniversary season with a virtuosic all-Rachmaninoff program.
