Vampire Weekend's new album, Contra (XL), doesn't come out until January, but the band released a free mp3 of one of the tracks, 'Horchata.' In a recent interview with Pitchfork, lead singer Ezra Koenig talked about the themes that influenced the album, ranging from 80's L.A. movie characters to elitism. There are change-ups-- two straight-up ballads, a warped reggae track, a sprinkling of AutoTune-- but the overall vibe remains enthusiastic and unafraid.
