What Does Climate Change Really Mean To Today's Water Resource MANAGERS?
The First Comprehensive… Show more Symposium focused on addressing how continuing shifts in California's hydrologic baseline due to climatic forcings could be affecting the ability of water managers/users to:
Consistently meet the Stateâ's multi-faceted existing regulatory requirements
Effectively pursue long-term planning given climatic uncertainties
Verify realistic alternative cost analyses on water supply options
Optimize day-to-day water operational decision-making
What changes in our existing regulatory framework are necessary in order to provide water managers the ability to maximize operational efficiency and optimize beneficial use opportunities both now and into the future under climate change?
SCEWRI/ASCE prepares a White Paper at the conclusion of each Symposium for submission to the Governor’s Office

2:45 pm 2013 California Climate Change Water Convention (WC-1) Can Regulatory Transitioning Provide an Effective Climate Change Adaptation Benefit for Water Operations?
(All Panelists and Invited Delegates)
The inaugural Scewri/Asce California Climate Change Water Convention (WC-1) will focus exclusively on issues related to helping define operational adaptation and improved efficiency in light of the evolving nature of climate-adjusted hydrological science and regulatory transitioning opportunities. Each successive annual Convention will reconvene key water leaders from across the State to provide a fresh discussion of the real-time implications to water operations from the latest climate science, the means to address ongoing uncertainties, how regulatory transitioning over the past year has unfolded, and the prospects for the current year.
