“Journey of Hope: Real Life Stories of Living with Mental Health Challenges Portrayed Through Art” exhibit
Art Show, Gallery, Multimedia, Sculpture, Textiles, Painting, Photography

In honor of Mental Illness Awareness Week (Oct. 6-12), Sacramento County’s “Mental Illness: It’s not always what you think” project and the Sacramento Fine Arts Center present Journey of Hope, a collaborative art exhibit pairing local artists and writers to share stories about mental health, hope and healing. Each piece began with a story written by a Sacramento County resident living with mental illness, which was then given to a local artist to be used as inspiration for an original two or three-dimensional art piece.
The public reception will be held on Saturday, November 9, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and the exhibit will be on display at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center, free and open to the public, October 29 – November 17.
