2017 Sierra Oro Farm Trail Passport Weekend
Tour, taste and toast your way through Butte County on Saturday and Sunday, October 7-8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Your passport opens the doors to amazing specialty farms and wineries where you’ll enjoy samples of tasty artisan olive oils, specialty nuts and award-winning wines, all while getting to know local farmers and winemakers behind them. Set their own pace as you explore a variety of the 34 farms and wineries along this year’s Farm Trail. Enjoy self-guided tours of the scenic agricultural trails, meet local farmers and winemakers, and sample the amazing bounty Butte County has to offer. This annual event is the only weekend that all farms along the Farm Trail are guaranteed to be open. Each of the 34 farms along the way pulls out all the stops to showcase our local culinary community! $30 Passports are available for pick-up on or before Friday, October 6 (or while supplies last) at any of our in-person Passport ticket pick-up locations: Tri Counties Bank Branches in Butte County and Chamber of Commerce offices in Chico and Oroville. $35 Passports will be sold during the event, while supplies last. Barbera Festival
Among the vineyards and under grand oak trees, more than 70 wineries from all over California and beyond, including the Sierra Foothills, Paso Robles, Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Livermore, Ventura County, Lodi and the Bay Area, will pour their Barbera wines for over 2,000 in attendance. Top area chefs will prepare gourmet food. There will also be four tents of art and artisan crafts, music and pourings of Italian varietal white wines.

Beer Train
The Sacramento Beer Train is a popular favorite event on the local craft beer scene. Each trip features a live band and two beer selections from four Northern California breweries. After finding your assigned seat, you can visit any of the four tasting stations located throughout the train, each pouring two beers from a different Northern California Brewery. During the 2 1/2-hour trip, feel free to wander among the three open-air cars or return to your assigned seat in the enclosed cars to enjoy your beer. Each ticket includes the 2 1/2-hour train ride, a souvenir tasting glass and six tastes of your choice.

Bokisch VIneyards Winery Tour & Tasting
On the first Sunday of each month through October, Bokisch Vineyards will host a small group tour of the winery and vineyard, along with a special tasting. This one-hour guided tour and tasting will feature five selected wines to taste, along with some Spanish nibbles. Weather permitting, the tasting will be held outside in the shade of the big blue oak tree in the Terra Alta Vineyard. The tour includes a 5-minute non-strenuous walk from the winery to the picnic area. Inform the vineyard in advance of any limitations you may have. Each tour is limited to 12 people. Tickets are available for morning (11:30 am-12:30 pm) or afternoon (2:30-3:30 pm) tours.

Cakebread Cellars Wine Dinner
Enjoy a festive evening in the Bistro Napa featuring the iconic wines of Napa Valley’s Cakebread Cellars. Founded in 1973 by Jack and Dolores Cakebread, this family winery is now in the hands of the second generation of winemaking Cakebreads. What started as a small family operation that released 157 cases of Chardonnay in 1974 is now a dynamic venture with an extensive portfolio of bottlings from 13 vineyards sites, totaling 1100 acres with 560 of that currently under vine.

Calistoga Harvest Table
The fourth annual Calistoga Harvest Table event will be held under the harvest moon. In celebration of a plentiful harvest season, 13 local restaurants and over 40 wineries will welcome visitors and locals to 1,000 feet of tables in the center of downtown. Calistoga AVA wines will be sold by glass or bottle, beginning at 4:30 pm, and dinner will be served at 6. Tickets go on sale at July 17 at noon. Restaurant menus will be available online July 10.
