2017 Bird Walks at Bridgeport
The South Yuba River Park Association will hold its 2017 bird walks at Bridgeport on the second Saturday of each month (except August and November). Expect to see wrentit, Nuttall's woodpecker, spotted towhees, black Phoebe, bald eagles and white-crowned sparrows. Meet at the park’s North Parking Lot (just past the South Yuba River-Pleasant Valley Road Bridge). Wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring binoculars.

Autism Awareness Association 5k/1k Fun Run
The Autism Awareness Association Fun Run provides a positive environment for all community members to support one another and enjoy time together, regardless of physical and developmental differences. This event also supports the Team Davis, which is our local Special Olympics team. This event will take place on the UC Davis West Quad, and registration will take place from 8:00am- 9:15am. The race will begin at 9:30am, and the children's activities will be available throughout and after the race.

OMCA's Gallery of California Natural Sciences hosts the family-friendly exhibition "Bees: Tiny Insect, Big Impact." Touch on topics of Bay Area beekeeping and the diversity of bee species by trying on a beekeeper suit and examining real bee specimens under a giant microscope; put on your research cap to contribute to citizen science projects at home, like counting bees in your backyard or hunting "ZomBees"; discover the similarities and differences between bees and humans while you crawl through a person-sized honeycomb; check out a beautiful handcrafted bee hotel installed in the OMCA Garden and plan your own bee-friendly garden; and explore the causes of bee population decline, learn about the significance of bees to California's economy and ecosystems, and discover how your own actions can help bees to survive in a changing world.

Capay Valley Mother's Day Garden Tour
Take in the gardens of the Capay Valley. See how California native shrubs are integrated into lovely annual and perennial gardens. Talk to the gardeners themselves and learn the secrets of their success. New gardens have been added this year, as well as several points of interest along the drive though the valley. Many of the gardens are also showcases for agricultural production in the Capay Valley. You’re welcome to picnic in the gardens –box lunches will be for sale at the Guinda Grange Hall using local ingredients. Art and plants will be for sale at the Grange Hall. A floral design demonstration will be available, with Mother’s Day bouquets to purchase.
