Everyone is welcome in the Setzer Foundation Auditorium for a sensory-friendly dance performance by Capital Dance Project. This performance is designed especially for people with difficulty tolerating lots of sensory stimuli at once, which is a frequent problem for people on the autism spectrum but also found in people with no such diagnosis. The program is intended to make people who often suffer from sensory overload feel comfortable, safe and accepted in a theater environment. Traditional theater rules will be relaxed and audience members are welcome to enter and exit, play with toys, dance and talk during this live dance performance. Food and drink are not allowed in the auditorium, but an outdoor picnic area is available and a quiet space will be provided.
