15th Annual Health Summit For Children With Special Health Care Needs
Family Voices Of California is a statewide collaborative of parent-run resource centers working to ensure quality health care for children and youth with special health care needs (www.familyvoicesofca.org). Our annual Health Summit & Legislative Day brings together families, youth, providers, policymakers, state agencies, and advocates who are all eager to identify and address the pressing issues and health challenges that affect one of the most vulnerable populations: children and youth with disabilities. We encourage you to join us for this powerful event. Hear from experts, build relationships with families and professionals, and learn how to address legislators to effectively implement change for children and youth with special health care needs. After-School Program for Teens
The after-school program is an opportunity for young women ages 14-18 to engage with the outdoor world and deepen their connection to themselves, their environment, their health and each other. This program will build community and support teens in healthy transitions toward adulthood. Through interactions with the land, the aim is to empower young women to build inner strength and confidence, as well as learn valuable leadership and life skills. Activities will include: gardening; cooking and eating together; health and nutrition; medicinal, edible and traditional uses of plants; wild harvesting for food and medicine; wild crafted art; exploring the American River Parkway and learning about Native People of California. This program will be held the second Wednesdays of the month from September to June.

Celebrate Pi Day and the day after, March 14 & 15, 2017 with the Sacramento Walking Sticks
The Sacramento Walking Sticks Club will be celebrating the ratio between the circumference of a circle to its diameter--approximately 3.14--on Pi Day. Tues, Mar 14th come before 3:14 pm and the day after on Wed, Mar 15th come between 6-6:45 pm. We invite everyone, including the family dog, to join in on our event; walking and eating "pie" with us before and/or after the walk. There are 3 loops to choose from; each is close to 3.14 miles in length . Everyone can walk for FREE . Walkers are not timed and are encouraged to look around and enjoy the trails.

The Sacramento Undy Run Walk - 5K & 1 mile fun runs helps raise funds and awareness of colon cancer. All participants are encouraged to wear colorful & family-friendly "undies" for this event! The Colon Cancer Alliance's mission is to knock out colon cancer from the top three cancer killers. This is accomplished by championing prevention, funding cutting-edge research & providing the highest quality patient support services. All registered participants receive a pair of signature Undy Run Walk boxers!The Sacramento Undy Run/Walk, consisting of 5K and 1-mile fun runs, helps raise funds for and awareness of colon cancer.
