Capital Stage is the first professional theatre company to form in Sacramento in over a decade. We ensure the finest talent by employing members of Actors Equity Association. We select plays that celebrate the distinctiveness of live storytelling presented in an up-close environment. Our mission is to enhance the cultural landscape of our community by offering critically acclaimed and award winning works, contemporary and classic, that engage the mind and soul. Sacramento residents who previously had to travel to the Bay Area, or even New York, can now experience the kind of dynamic live theatre that excites them, right here in our capitol city.

Really enjoyed Speech and Debate, but should have brought my parka. This is down in the hull of a boat, but suspect they think bodies warm the place up, they do but not enough. It is great you can bring in a glass of wine, the theater is intimate. I love the venue and we a had dinner before. I think the concessions stand could use some augmentation, like some costco cookies and they could make some more money, as the only thing it seemed like you could buy was candy. The acting and show were great, as was the play. Will be back

I just have to say that the Delta King was very accommodating and the food was terrific. However, I have never been more embarrassed to be threatened by security and reprimanded for relieving myself during the play. We were also reprimanded for laughing out loud during the play. My understanding was that this was a comedy not a dramatic play? I am not telling you what to do but if this were my boat the last thing I would want is to have a ticking time bomb such as Stephanie Gularte and her company Capital Stage representing such a fine establishment such as the Delta King. They would not even refund our tickets. Peter (co-founder)instead advised us to go to their upcoming play. Like we would have attended another play of theirs. As an owner of the company I was appalled at the way Stephanie handled herself.

Capital Stage, Sacramento's newest professional theatre company continues to mount well performed, thoughtful theatre with the highest production quality to be found. Run, don't walk, to any Capital Stage production....you won't be disappointed!
